Hi Adopter,
I’m starting a second newsletter called Adapt and Create, and I’m really excited about it. I want to tell you why, and how it’ll be different from what we do here at AI Adopters Club.
A couple of weeks ago, I gave a short talk at Florida International University for the Florida Executive Forum. Preparing it gave me a chance to think about a pattern that has followed me for most of my life.
I was born in Poland during the Cold War. My parents went to West Germany first, and six months later my grandmother brought me across. Growing up in Germany, I focused on learning the language and understanding the culture. Eventually, I found my place.
That experience taught me to pay attention to a new environment, learn how it works, and then find a way to create something useful within it. It’s a pattern I can see throughout my life.
I studied industrial engineering, which brought together technology, design and business. Later, in Hawaii, I helped explore an ambitious renewable-energy venture. The project didn’t work out, but I enjoyed the challenge of connecting an idea with a possible path to making it real.
Then, in late 2022, I started using ChatGPT to translate my English business thinking back into German. It soon became useful for developing rough ideas and making connections, too. That fit the way I already liked to think, and I wanted to learn more.
That’s part of why I’m starting Adapt and Create. I want a place to explore the bigger questions that have stayed with me: how we learn, approach unfamiliar problems and find possibilities we might otherwise miss.
AI Adopters Club will continue to focus on putting AI to work: the workflows, tools and practical decisions that help businesses use it well.
Adapt and Create is for curious people who want to think clearly, learn deeply and adapt as the world changes around them. We’ll explore how we approach unfamiliar problems, question familiar answers and make space for better ideas, in work and in life.
There’s a connection between the two. If you’re trying to improve a process with AI, ask the people doing the work where they make exceptions or rely on judgement that isn’t written down. Pick one small part to test, agree who owns it, and compare the time, cost or quality before and after. Then bring what you learn back to the team.
You’re welcome to read either newsletter or both, depending on what you’re looking for. I hope you’ll join me as we see where Adapt and Create can take us.
Adapt and Create,
Kamil
