Brilliant framing with the R2D2 vs Yoda shift. The "every" trigger is gold becuase it cuts straight through to what actually drains time versus what feels urgent but isnt repeatable. I've been using a similar mental model where I treat AI outputs like rough drafts from a junior team member, solid foundation but needing editorial judgment before going live. That "director's chair" concept really captures the shift from maker to curator.
This really resonated. The shift from treating AI as “answer machine” to “thinking partner” is the quiet upgrade most people are still missing, and your Yoda vs. R2D2 framing nails it without overcomplicating things. Same with the DJ analogy. Direction, taste, and judgment remain human work. Speed and synthesis are where AI shines.
I also appreciated the emphasis on mental fitness. That idea feels under-discussed and incredibly important. As execution gets cheaper, discernment becomes the skill that compounds. This piece does a great job reminding people that AI doesn’t remove responsibility. It raises the bar for it.
Clear, grounded, and practical. Exactly the kind of perspective that helps people move from reacting to AI to actually leading with it.
Thanks Kamil. This looks like an awesome event. Thanks so much for taking notes and curating the lessons learnt. I love the line 'you bring direction, AI brings speed' as that really encapsulates how we can use these tools effectively without ourselves accelerating into burnout! 🙏
My 2026 AI goals are to continue to use AI to free up time for me to enjoy my family, my friends, and my freedom. I’m doing this through Slow AI, by reading everything I can in Substack, and listening to wonderful educators and experts such as yourself. I can’t wait to get started! 🙏
Great article. Curious about your choice to drive readers to a video without a transcript. Something you believe is powerful, yet you exclude the use of tools like NotebookLM to help readers utilize the knowledge.

And in the end it’s good to use r2d2 and Yoda together:)

Thank you Sam! What are your AI goals in 2026? And how are you prompting them into existence?
