Download Books Directly Into Your Brain (With My Matrix Method)
How I went from skimming book summaries to creating personalized knowledge that actually sticks and transforms my life
Hey Adopter,
I have a confession: I used to be a book hoarder.
My Kindle was stuffed with 100+ books. My browser had 47 tabs of "must-read summaries." I'd read something profound, get excited, then completely forget it by the following Tuesday. My books would become shelf-help instead of self-help as my friend
would say.Sound familiar?
The breakthrough came when I stopped trying to consume more books and started building an AI knowledge system instead. Now I can process a book in 30 minutes and turn it into insights that actually change how I work.
Today I'm sharing the exact system. It's called the Matrix Method, and it fixes the fundamental problem with how professionals learn.
PRO TIP: Download my free browser extension Right-Click Prompt and download all of today's prompts so you’ll have it easier.
Download the prompt pack and hit “Add Package” in the browser extension.
The Problem With Basic AI Book Summaries
When it comes to prompting effectively, creativity plays a big part. Most people would try something like this:
"Hey ChatGPT, summarize 'Atomic Habits' for me."
You get generic advice that could apply to anyone. It's like asking a stranger to describe your childhood home—they'll give you facts, but miss what actually matters to YOU.
The breakthrough insight: Your AI needs to know your context, challenge your thinking, and help you build something permanent.
That's where the Matrix Method comes in.
The Matrix Method: My 3-Step System
This isn't just another prompting trick. It's a complete knowledge-building system using Claude Projects + Google Drive that creates:
A permanent library you own (not trapped in a chat app)
Insights tailored to YOUR specific goals and challenges
An AI coach that gets smarter with every book
Actionable frameworks you can actually implement
Here's how to build it:
Phase 1: Build Your AI Sparring Partner (15-Minute Setup)
Step 1: Create Your Knowledge Vault
Go to Google Drive
Create a folder called "My Matrix Library"
This becomes your permanent, portable knowledge base
Step 2: Build Your Claude Coach
Go to Claude.ai → Projects
Create a new project: "📚 Kamil's Matrix Library"
Connect Google Drive and select “Drive Search” (You can also upload your summaries later into the knowledgebase inside the project directly)
Click "Set project instructions"
Step 3: Install Your Coach's Brain
Here's where the magic happens. Copy this prompt (customize the personal details to match YOUR situation):
You are my personalized learning coach and intellectual sparring partner. Your mission is to help me process books and transform insights into actionable frameworks.
My Context:
- Role: [Your actual role and industry]
- Core Challenge: [Your biggest professional challenge]
- Success Metrics: [How you define winning]
- Learning Style: [How you learn best]
Your Principles:
1. Be a sparring partner, not a cheerleader. Challenge my thinking.
2. Question my assumptions before I make expensive mistakes.
3. Provide alternative perspectives, not just validation.
4. Search my Google Drive documents when synthesizing past learnings.
5. Keep everything actionable for this week, not someday.
Important: Replace personal details with YOUR role, challenges, and goals. This context is what makes everything that follows incredibly powerful.
Here is what I have in my Claude Project instructions:
Phase 2: The 30-Minute Book Process
For each book, start a NEW chat in your Claude Project and use these exact prompts:
Prompt 1: The Relevance Filter (5 minutes)
I'm about to learn [BOOK TITLE]. Based on my context, what are the 3 most relevant concepts that would help me build ownable frameworks? Ignore the rest.
Prompt 2: The Personal Mirror (10 minutes)
Summarize those key concepts, but frame them as a direct response to my challenge of [YOUR MAIN CHALLENGE]. Use 'you' language and give me:
1. How each concept applies to my exact situation
2. A memorable story or example
3. One specific experiment I can run this week
Prompt 3: The Sparring Session (10 minutes)
Let's stress-test this. I'm planning to apply [CONCEPT X] by doing [ACTION Y]. Play devil's advocate. What are the strongest arguments against this approach? Where is my thinking weak or my assumptions flawed?
Prompt 4: Create Your Asset (5 minutes)
Create a one-page cheat sheet for [BOOK TITLE] that includes:
- The core message in one sentence
- The 3 key concepts tailored to my goals
- Specific next actions for my situation
- Questions to ask myself when making decisions
Then: Copy the artifact, as PDF or create a Google Doc titled "[Book Title] - My Insights," and save it to your Matrix Library folder.
Phase 3: Advanced Techniques (Where It Gets Powerful)
After processing 3+ books, your system becomes exponentially more valuable:
The Book Stack Method
Search my Google Drive folder. Based on the documents for [Book A] and [Book B], what are the most powerful combinations of concepts that address my main challenge? Where do these authors disagree, and which approach fits my situation better?
The Quarterly Synthesis
Search all documents in my Matrix Library folder. Synthesize the key themes from the past quarter. What are the top 3 concepts I should recommit to? Suggest one new experiment that combines ideas from different books.
The Teaching Test
Help me explain [BOOK CONCEPT] as if I'm teaching it to someone who shares my exact role and challenges. What personal examples would make it resonate? This will test if I really understand it.
Why This Actually Works
This system leverages proven learning science that most people ignore:
Elaborative Encoding creates multiple pathways to the same information through personal stories, frameworks, and experiments.
Retrieval Practice happens when you actively defend concepts with your AI coach instead of passively reading.
Personal Relevance makes your brain prioritize what matters to your specific situation.
Asset Creation builds something permanent you own instead of consuming content that evaporates.
What You'll Have After 30 Days
Four to six books processed and tailored to your goals. A searchable Google Drive library of personalized insights. Proven frameworks you've tested in real situations. An AI coach that knows your thinking patterns. Knowledge that compounds instead of disappearing.
Most importantly, you'll become someone who naturally applies the best human knowledge to your specific challenges instead of collecting books like trophies.
Your Week One Action Plan
Day 1: Build the system (15-minute setup)
Day 3: Process your first book using the four prompts
Day 5: Test one insight in your actual work
Day 7: Add a second book and try the Book Stack Method
The goal isn't reading more books. It's becoming the person who actually uses what they learn.
Here's the truth most won't tell you: Reading without a system is just expensive entertainment. But building a knowledge machine that knows you? That's how you develop the frameworks that set you apart.
What book will you download into your brain first?
Adapt & Create,
Kamil
Every time you come up with an article/post/framework, it blows my mind. These are so thoughtful, actionable, and relatable frameworks. Your project instructions align perfectly with how I want things to be in my life, so I don't even need to make any changes (I'm not being lazy here, but it's so relatable :)).
Thank you very much, Kamil.
Hello Kamil. Quick question about Prompt 3. I’m a bit unclear on what exactly should go into the placeholders. Wouldn’t it be easier to just refer to the concept by number, like “I’m planning to apply 1” instead of “I’m planning to apply [CONCEPT X] by doing [ACTION Y]”?
